Trauma Registrar Mentorship Program
Overview: This comprehensive program is designed to provide a solid foundation and standardized approach for the new trauma registrar in the following core areas: Data Management, Conditions of Injury, Coding and Scoring Concepts, and Registry Issues. The program utilizes multiple teaching formats to engage the student in meaningful, active, multimodality learning experiences to foster a deeper understanding and critical thinking skills. This program consists of 32 lectures (live and recorded), quizzes, homework, and faculty Q&A. The program contains an in-depth anatomy, ICD-10-CM external cause and injury, and ICD-10-PCS procedure lectures. Additionally all trauma scaling and scoring systems (ISS, POS, RTS, and GCS) are discussed in detail, as well as an introduction to AIS principles. There are many more lectures such as: Confidentiality & Security, Performance Improvement, Data Validation, Report Writing. This is truly the foundational instruction for all new trauma registrars.
This continuing nursing education course was approved for 62 hours by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
