Overview:
Healthcare is moving toward real-time data exchange, and trauma registry professionals are at the center of this shift. This webinar introduces you to health informatics fundamentals and shows you how they apply to your daily work with trauma data.
We'll cover what informatics actually means, how to distinguish it from IT and data analytics, and why it matters for trauma programs. You'll learn about data standards like HL7 and FHIR, interoperability levels, data governance, and how to maintain quality across the entire data lifecycle. We'll also walk through practical examples of how data flows from EHR to registry to dashboard, and what you need to monitor at each step.
Whether you're a trauma registrar, data analyst, program manager, or PI nurse, this session gives you the vocabulary and frameworks to work more effectively with your systems, communicate with IT, and advocate for what your program needs.
