Overview:
The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality care and patient safety within a trauma center. This position is responsible for the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program, which includes identifying opportunities for clinical improvement, coordinating case reviews and peer feedback, and assisting with ensuring compliance with National standards. Working closely with trauma and hospital leadership, the PI Coordinator uses data-driven analysis to track outcomes, create and support quality initiatives, and help prepare the program for trauma center verification. Their work is essential to fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement in trauma care.

Alita Lanoux MSN, RN, CPN
Alita Lanoux is a dedicated educator, healthcare professional, and consultant passionate about mentorship and lifelong learning. With a background in pediatric emergency nursing, she has received honors such as Clinical Nurse of the Year, Mentor of the Year, and the Franciscan Service Award for her contributions to healthcare education.
Alita currently serves as the Trauma Program Manager at Level 2 Children's Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, while also providing education and consulting services through Pomphrey Consulting. She earned her master’s degree in nursing education from Western Governor’s University after beginning her nursing career at Our Lady of the Lake College of Nursing.
Beyond her professional life, Alita enjoys participating in Bible studies, spending time with her family, friends, and beloved dogs, in her hometown of Gonzales.
