Overview: The ICD-10-CM codes are used for mapping to AIS severity, as well as usage for medical research. Therefore, the trauma registrar’s codes must be accurate. This one hour session will focus on injuries and damage to the head, face and neck. The ICD-10-CM systems have over 14,400 codes to describe all medical elements. These are broken down into 22 specific chapters. Pomphrey Consulting has developed a comprehensive course which focuses on the chapters where “injuries” meeting the national inclusion criteria are found.

Know your Speaker: Stacey Hairston, MHA, RHIA is currently the ICD-10-CM/PCS Faculty and Content Expert at Pomphrey Consulting. She is also a full-time professor and has been teaching courses in health information technology for seven years. Prior to teaching, Stacey has a diverse background with over 10 years of health care experience working in several healthcare settings including pediatrics, managed care, and physician office. She also has six years of consulting experience focusing on health care data analytics. She loves to travel and has a passion for educating others in healthcare.
